The Kingdom of Prussia (Königreich Preußen), is the leading state of the German principalities, comprising almost two-thirds of the area of the former Holy Roman Empire in German lands. It takes its name from the territory of Prussia, although its power base is Brandenburg.

Kingdom of Sardinia, also known as Piedmont-Sardinia or Sardinia-Piedmont, was the name given to the possessions of the House of Savoy in 1720, when the crown of Sardinia was awarded by the Treaty of London to Duke Victor Amadeus II of Savoy to compensate him for the loss of the crown of Sicily to Austria.
