In this location, near the shelter, are there any exploitable resources or usable land? Do we have enough water & forest to build a sawmill and lumber camp that would be usable.

Do I have any idea about mineable resources? Will a survey without having survey tech be able to find anything?

To find what is there you will have to run a survey. But a quick glance shows you that you are near a dry creek bed, and that means if you build a well you can access the water table. But how far down you will need to go has to be gotten from a survey.

And, surprisingly, when you exit the shelter you see an old growth forest surrounding the Shelter Entrance, which suggests one or two things could be the cause:

1. Weather patterns have changed. Your old DB lists this area as scrub and brush only.

2. Or a rise in the walter table. Allowing trees to take root.

Unfortunetly, I can only use the maps from the USGS. And not something post apoc. :bs

Your scouts bring back startling news, you are located on an island and Provo is gone!

The only thing visible is the skeletons of the skyscrapers, sticking above the waves.

The Great Salt Lake has massively expanded.

I will try and get something thrown together to explain what happened, for when your people finally figure out what happened. :bs

I figured you would see it as a challenge. And thanks, it was a pain to get the right contour height to make the new lake level.

Yeah, I am kinda proud of my handiwork. :gl
