Military Standing Orders

After they are listed as Combat Ready, every new group of soldiers are to begin basic survival training.

With every population increase these orders are to be repeated, with the names moving down the phonetic alphabet in order. When unit Zulu is reached, the next unit will be Alpha 2, and on in that order.

Whenever feasible, take enemy prisoners.

Exploration Standing Orders

If any people are encountered in groups less than 10% of the size of a group of my men, my men are to take them back to town immediately. For example, if a group of twenty men on scout duty run into a lone traveler, they are to attempt to convince him to peacefully travel with them, and that he will be given asylum in the town. They are never to use lethal force unless it is necessary to preserve the life of one of their own.

If a traveler or group of travelers is brought to town peacefully, he/she/they are to be treated humanely and respectfully. They will be asked about any information that could help the town, such as the location of metal deposits, and if possible will be asked to lead a scouting party to the location. They have the right to leave at any time, and will not be harmed at all, unless they threaten the life or well being of any citizens.

Any traveler or group of travelers who were originally brought into town peacefully will be given the option to join the town as a citizen after they have done all they can or all they are willing to do to help the town after being brought to the city. This option is always theirs to refuse, and they are to be released back into the wastes with all the equipment they had when they arrived should they refuse.

Any traveler or group of travelers who is brought to town by coercion or force will be interrogated to determine if they have any useful knowledge about the area. Torture will be employed if necessary. Should questioning reveal they do have information, they will be forced to draw a map to the area, and if the map proves faulty, they will be ejected into the wastes with no food, water, supplies, or clothing.

Any traveler or group of travelers who are brought to town by coercion or forced will never be given the option of joining the city, and upon the completion of their stay in the city, they will be ejected into the wastes with no food, water, supplies, or clothing.

Any regular exploration team that is not part of a military body is to send two members to town immediately upon sighting of any group of travelers.

In the event of hostile contact with another group, exploration teams are to break and run, as well as scattering in several directions. DO NOT LEAD THE ENEMY UNITS TO CLEARWATER, NO MATTER THE COST.

If captured, do not give away any critical information. Try to escape if possible, and if not, simply try to survive.

In the event that a scouting party recovers any pre-war tech, they are to return IMMEDIATELY to Clearwater.
