Copy Date January 1830. Sardinian Press Release
The debate rages on between the Army, Navy and the Kings Treasury about finding funds for additional ships, artillery, and mounted troops. While the King has not spoken publicly on the matter, it is known that he considers that the navy is currently incapable of effective pirate suppression and that the army lacks the capability to do more then man the walls of our grand cities.
General Antonio Bertolucci is also complaining that any increases in banditry would stretch his available troops beyond the breaking point and cause potentially ugly trade disruptions and a loss of additional revenue to the crown from a sudden trade stoppage.
It is unknown how the crown will solve this prickly problem of slender resources.
In other news, the Kingdom has reported that a merchant ship has been invested in and that the King has ordered the clearing and leveling of some of the more common routes of trade between towns inside of the Kingdom. The roads are expected to be finished by early spring.
